Beliebers, you know BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards, right? It is an award for African Americans and other minorities in music, sports, acting, and other fields of entertainment over the past year. So, basically only African Americans usually be nominated for BET awards.
So Why is Justin Bieber nominated on BET awards? isn’t he white? Don’t get confuse. I think this is very good for Justin. They nominated Justin Bieber because they considered him a crossover artist. he’s obviously not black. but that shouldn’t stop him from succeeding. We must admit that JB got multiracial fans all around the world.
Even rapper, P. Diddy agrees that JB is nominated for Best New Artist.
P Diddy tweets, saying that “music is color blind.”
Then he told network press conference “The awards are important to hip hop and to show [hip-hop artists] in the right light,”
“But the beauty of BET is, if Justin Bieber’s hot, then he deserves to be on that stage,” said Diddy. “Sometimes, at other award shows, the color of your skin or the type of music you make takes away from getting the accolade you deserve.”
