This week has been a dream come true for U.S. Olympic swimmer Missy Franklin.
On Monday, the 17-year-old swimmer won her first individual Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke after finishing a 200-meter freestyle semifinal. Everyone took notice of her, including her idol — Justin Bieber!
Justin tweeted:
“Heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove.”
Franklin — who’s also a true Belieber, excitedly responded:
“I just died! Thank you!”
Justin Bieber has two chances to take home the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards’ prize, as he’s up for Best Pop Video & Best Male Video for his video “Boyfriend”.

Justin Bieber makes a surprise visit to gf Selena Gomez on her new commercial shoot.
Production Assistant Angie Suleimanyan shared a photo of Selena showcasing the Biebs on the set of her new commercial and said:
“It’s a wrap shooting Selena Gomez commercial and we got a surprise guest on set.”
