The Ottawa Citizen newspaper has given Justin Bieber the title “Newsmaker of the Year” based on the sheer amount of column inches he has taken up throughout 2012.
His relationship with Selena Gomez, chart success with second album Believe, tours, and allegations surrounding his behavior have kept him in headlines constantly over the last twelve months.
Justin had 17% of the vote, ahead of Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper with 15%. The survey was conducted by Ipsos Reid for Postmedia News and Global Television.
Justin shows no signs of calming down any time soon – he will be on tour for a lot of 2013, and also plans to release to an acoustic album.
