Justin Bieber is taking heat on social media after he visited the Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam and wrote in the guest book he hoped the young Holocaust victim (killed by Nazis) would have been a “belieber.”
Anne Frank Museum’s Facebook page said:
Yesterday night Justin Bieber visited the Anne Frank House, together with his friends and guards. Fans were waiting outside to see a glimpse of him. He stayed more than an hour in the museum.
In our guestbook he wrote: “Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber.”
A source said one of the things Justin learned during his museum visit was that Anne was really into the pop culture of the time — that’s why he wrote his “Belieber” comment.
Anne Frank died at age 15 at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, and is one of the most well-known and celebrated Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
