T.I. on Justin Bieber’s Controversy, Hopes to Save him ‘a little anguish’

T.I-justinbieber

Rapper T.I. tells MTV News about the bond that he and Justin share. The rapper hopes mentoring Justin Bieber will “keep him from going down the same path”.

He tells MTV News:

Just trying to use my experiences to help somebody keep them from going down the same path that I did. Save him a little anguish.

Justin has really been calling me just to help him navigate himself through, from where he is to where he has to be.

T.I. also gives his thoughts on the controversy surrounding JB’s leaked videos. He says he hasn’t spoken to Justin after two videos of him making racist jokes hit the Internet, but he believes JB has to be held accountable.

Every man is held accountable for his actions and his words spoken. However, I also think we should take into account the time in which this happened and the age of the person when it happened.

I think that he definitely has to answer to it. He definitely has some explaining to do. But I think everybody that heard it has to allow him that opportunity. You can’t already convict somebody before they come forth with their rebuttal or their explanation. I think that is pivotal.

As previously reported, in one video Justin is heard telling a racially insensitive joke, while using the N-word. In another he changed the words of his song “One Less Lonely Girl” to “One Less Lonely N—-r.” Both videos surfaced online at the beginning of June, just days a part, but they were filmed when Justin was just a teen.

Justin has since issued a written apology.

    aww thats like so sweet

  • ivan

what more do they want from him? He felt bad at the age of 15 after telling those racial jokes and he recently has again apologized twice. He hangs around black guys more than most whites. Enough already!

    • Lailani

Justin is a sweet guy. People need to move on and get passed it damn idiots

      • Belieber 4 Eva

        True

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Yeh he said he was sorry and it wasn’t like sorry now leave me alone he really ment it and realized what he set for his beliebers and really ment wat he said

      • ivan

Right. The whole thing makes me sick. He is more supportive of blacks in the hip hop movement than most or all white artists in the business. He hangs around them all the time; it’s stupid to call him racist over some jokes 5 years ago as an immature kid. A few morons will call them that because they don’t really know him.

      • Belieber 4 Eva

        PREACH!

        Ur awesome

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Plus I bet I no where he got all tht n–r trash from only mean white people use that word it the black peoples word so why wouldn’t they be saying it around him even when he was young imagine justin in a club with jay-z or some other bad influence just trying to fit in and the jay-z say to one of his friends hey n–r pass me a soda or some other drink justin hears and is like hey this doesn’t seem to offend people it okay to say this so he say yeh n–r pass me one too

Do u see what I’m trying to put off

  • Lailani

No one can choose his friends for him. Only he can do that. Justin is amazing and super talented. People need to move on.

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Ur right no one can choose his friends but him but he can use our advice to choose his friends

  • Lailani

    Justin is a good guy.

  • Belieber

That’s so sweet to help him. Im so glad he is doing better and getting on the right path… honestly.

  • lambor500S

There is nothing to save Justin from he is just as normal as any other human being. But, you have to give Justin, credit for being a very strong person. Because, he deals with alot that we do not even here about all lies and rumors as always. Also, dealing with these crazy people in the world not just tabloids and the media but regular day to day people now trying to exploit money from him and he can barely go anywhere to enjoy himself if it’s not the paps it’s someone trying to start some type of conflict with him so they can call TMZ to sell their story and video trying to get paid. And they were the ones harassing Justin,
I admire the strength you have to just keep moving forward and enjoying life.
As you know only the strong survive which to me you are a good example of that.
    Much love!

Thats so sweet for him to help him. Im glad someone actually cares about him and is willing to help him. The first step is dumping all his black friends. Im not trying to be racist or anything but they just cause trouble

    • Belieber 4 Eva

That’s nice though to have someone try to help you is awesome

    • Belieber 4 Eva

I totally agree and even though I’m black I no what u mean all those rappers are changing him I know he want to sort of mature his music but it’s not working with them there changing him into something he’s not if he goes to jail again they’ll just say it’s okay and take him to some other country to hide he needs to stay round people that will help him

  • Lailani

TI, seems like a good guy. And is a good mentor. Since he’s pretty much been through it all.

  • Lailani

Love seeing justin and Selena together

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Right there awesome ahhhhhhhhh Jelena is awesome

  • BellBieber

That was nice of T.I. to say that
And I agree with lambor500S Justin could be dealing with other crap we dont know about
You might think you no Justin but we dont no what hes really like inside we might not no what hes going through
But hes strong and with his Beliebers by hes even stonger :)

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Wow that really spoke to me

Ur amazing and ur words will get u far
U should be an insperational speaker

      • BellBieber

        Thanks Beliener 4 Eva
U make good points too tho :)

      • Belieber 4 Eva

        I dabble a little

T.I. is no stranger to getting into trouble himself and has served time in prison.. I hope that Justin listens to his advice, because T.I. has been there, done that so to speak. I also agree that Justin needs to address these videos once and for all, maybe in a big interview like with Oprah for example. That would be a big ratings grabber for Oprah if she got an exclusive sit down interview with Justin Bieber. The world is still waiting for his response and if he shows people genuine regret in an interview over his words as 14/15 year old and that he is longer that dumb kid and has changed for the better since then it will go a long way in changing his public image for the better. I hope he does it soon.

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Although I agree with bellbieber I we’ll agree with u more if anyone shouldn’t be talking about owning up to thing or accepting them or learning from ur mistakes it’s him and Oprah would help him at least a tiny bit I think he needs to visit Ellen she’s a good friend but has lots of wisdom.

I have spent a lot of time in Stratford ont. where Justin comes from and doubt he heard that racist talk there. he was 13 when he moved to Atlanta and I expect that is where he came across stuff like that, especially the kkk comments. I watched the videos and saw a young boy trying to be funny and no doubt entertaining his friends. at that time Justin wouldn’t understand the impact of that word in the u. s. you don’t hear a lot of that in Canada. I’m sure he wouldn’t have said it if he realized how it is perceived in the states. I read somewhere that usher found out about it at that time and undertook to educate him on the subject. some people are making far to much noise about this. Justin is no racist and the subject should be put to bed.

    • Birk

I am Canadian as well and can tell you for a fact that the N word does not have the history behind it like in the U.S.. Then again Canada has long tried and has for the most part been successful in keeping Canada’s own history of slavery of black people hidden.. It isn’t even taught in schools that Canada also had slavery, and most Canadians think slavery was something that only Americans did.. Same goes for the K.K.K. that is also seen as an “American” problem. The only thing Justin is guilty of is being naive and somewhat stupid kid at the time, that does not make him a racist.. He has learned since then that what he did was wrong, and regrets it.

      • Lailani

Justin is not stupid. He is Naive. But as he grows he’ll learn and become wiser.

      • Belieber 4 Eva

He didn’t mean it like that but ur right

    • Belieber 4 Eva

Ur totally right he didn’t no but even though he had to take credit and apologize he still wasn’t mature enough

And I hate drake bell he sucz and is constantly picking on justin for this stuff plus because justin is way better than him

  • ivone

We have all seen his friends the majority are black so WTF are people making a big deal about? TMZ is known for always throwing dirt on JB, open your eyes people!!!! TMZ is making money enough said!!!!!!!!!!
