Teen singing sensation Justin Bieber made an appearance Friday night on ABC’s “Nightline,” and he took the opportunity to talk about a number of things from his quick rise to stardom to how he stays grounded with his mom.

The first thing you quickly realize in this video is that Bieber is still learning how to balance being a star with being surrounded by stars — he calls out to celebrities on the street and admits to getting “nervous” when meeting people such as Beyonce. However, he also has been forced into learning how to stand up for himself and his style when there are millions of other people trying to pull him in every direction.

After talking about the platform that made him famous (Youtube), the interview quickly then focused more on Justin’s private life. — he is a sixteen-year old kid from a single-parent household in Ontario, and he says that growing up in that environment was tough but that he is grateful for it now. His mom travels with him the majority of the time, and even thought hey “butt heads” on occasion her presence helps him avoid some of the pitfalls that have plagued many young stars over the years.
